If purchasing a system with 16GB of memory you can purchase an install a Desktop Virtulization package (Parallels or VMWare) and Windows OS to run most Windows applictions within Mac OS. However, some AutoCAD and GIS projects may require rendering or processing methods that will not work in desktop virtuliztation and will require working in a Boot Camp version of Windows.
